Just one moment in the presence of the Lord can completely change your situation.
After months of dealing with pain in her hand, Grace House worship team member Donna Nix was healed on Sunday, October 1, 2023 during the worship service at Grace House.
“I had been dealing with arthritic-type pain in my right hand for three months,” Donna explained. “It was in my index finger down to the knuckle. It would swell and was stiff. It would wake me up at night hurting. The pain would shoot through my hand.”
Donna could not close her hand to make a fist, nor could she unscrew lids on jars. More importantly, the piano player had to fight pain when she practiced and when she played on the worship team.
“The pain would improve and then come back,” Donna added.
During this time, Donna was able to play on the worship team every time she was scheduled, even when she was in pain.
At the same time of her ordeal, her husband, Randy Nix, was having trouble with his voice. Randy is also on the worship team as one of the lead vocalists. Thankfully, he has recovered as well.
“I told him I felt like it was an attack on our anointing,” Donna said. “We just kept not giving in to it.”
Then it all changed on Sunday, October 1.
“I wasn't even thinking about my hand at that time,” Donna recalled. She had not been scheduled to play that day, so she was worshiping with the congregation.
“I don't even remember the name of the song we were singing, but it was about the name of the Lord, who He is,” Donna said. “All of a sudden, I realized I could close my hand and make a fist. I wasn't even asking for healing at that moment. I had been asking all along, but at that moment I was just worshiping.”
She said the difference in her hand now is like night and day, but there have been days where she feels a little pain, but not as strong.
Donna said during these times, she thinks of the blind man Jesus healed in John 9. “Did he have days when he thought he was going blind again? I just tell the enemy he has no right in my body and the pain leaves.”
“I'm very grateful He touched me. It was unexpected that day,” Donna concluded. “Miracles happen in the presence of the Lord.”
